At the start you’ll find water sports schools, cafes and restaurants then the further you walk, the quieter it becomes. Or, pack up the kids for a day trip to one of the many family-friendly attractions in the surrounding area. Try Oakwood (17.4km) for roller coasters, Manor Park (5.5km) for wildlife or Heatherton (5.6km) for slides, rides and games.
